Loved this one. I had so much fun making it. The tires were my favorite 🙂
This building blocks cake was for a boy’s 1st birthday. I loved the way this one turned out. The blocks were carved out of cereal treats and covered in fondant. One of the hardest parts of this cake was the letters….they weren’t cut outs. I also loved the little, well, not-so-little smash cake for the birthday boy. It’s a little hard to see in the pictures but it was a giant block covered in all buttercream instead of fondant.
This was my daughter’s first birthday cake. I couldn’t decide on a design so I just put a little of everything on it. I got the idea for the flowers from a cake on http://www.pinkcakebox.com. They make amazing cakes and I love getting ideas from them!
I loved this cake. It was one of the first tiered cakes I had made, and it came out pretty good. My favorite part has got to be Chloe’s name on the etch-a-sketch 🙂 The moon on top was the first thing I had ever covered entirely in fondant. Luckily it was supposed to be all bumpy and full of craters because I had no idea what I was doing! Almost everything I have learned about fondant…actually, everything I have learned about fondant I have learned from trial and error or Youtube. If you have an interest in cake decorating, you should start experimenting!! Take a class at your local craft store or watch some Youtube tutorials, it is so much fun!
